This page lays out what data we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and when it might be shared with others. Using any page on this website means you accept the practices described here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Queries entered in a partner-powered search box are sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the information and returns results; we do not keep a log of the terms typed into its search box.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you send a message through a contact channel, we retain it as needed to respond and manage the correspondence. We do not disclose it outside the organization unless law requires that disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, routine server logs may record technical details such as:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Small cookie files and analytics tools may help us understand which pages draw visits and where people leave. You can block cookies in your browser; pages that rely on them may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Warrant Data on File

This site does not build or sell a database of warrant records or information about named people. South Carolina's Trial Court Public Index displays information for participating courts, while SLED CATCH is a criminal-history service that excludes wanted-person data. A court and its serving agency remain the sources for a specific warrant's status. Visitor information described in this policy is not assembled into consumer reports or files about other people, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes on this site are powered by outside companies. Anything you enter into those tools is processed under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own data-retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Review the partner's policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links across the site lead to public case tools, court and sheriff pages, legal resources, and commercial search partners. Once you follow one, that operator's privacy practices apply. Review them before submitting personal information.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable safeguards for information under our control, but online systems cannot be guaranteed secure. No security practice eliminates every possibility of unauthorized access.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has shared personal information with us, send a message through an available direct channel and we will delete it promptly.

Your Data Rights

South Carolina Code §39-1-90 addresses notice after certain security breaches involving personal identifying information; it does not establish general rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of ordinary website data processing. The statute text explains its scope. The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, Title 30, Chapter 4, applies to records held by public bodies, and SCACR Rule 10 addresses court-record access; neither governs visitor data held by this private site. If you contact us through a direct channel, we may review requests concerning information you provided to us. Examples include:

  • Request a copy of information you submitted directly to us
  • Tell us about an error in that information
  • Ask us to remove direct correspondence, where retention is not required
  • Contact an outside provider to exercise choices over its search or advertising data

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy as our practices change. The current text and its effective date will appear here, so revisit this page to review later updates.
